The fat32-lib Announcement
I’m currently working on a FAT32 implementation in Java, and it’s going pretty well. After a sluggish start, now it’s capable of reading, writing and creating the complete FAT family of file systems, also known as FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32. The project’s source is hosted on Google Code, check it out…
At this time only super-floppy formatted devices (without a partition table) are supported, though. That’s enough for our company’s needs, so I’m going to do a “1.0″ release soon. Support for partitioned devices is on the agenda, but I’m still thinking about a nice API design for this. And when this happens, support for other file systems would be beneficial, too. Any volunteers? :-)
